Since 1951, the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) has been
a continuing resource for quality professional development. Serving the IT industry
as a national organization and through our local chapters, AITP is committed to
delivering to our members the recognition, support, and credibility that will give
them the competitive edge needed to succeed.

Who We Are
AITP provides a local, regional, and national forum for obtaining information about the field of information technology, learning about educational and career
opportunities, developing technology and business skills, and staying connected with other professionals who have similar interests.
Founded in 1951, our organization evolved as the industry evolved. We have led the industry from establishing the first Certificate in Data Processing (CDP) professional
examination program, to the creation of the Registered Business Programmer (RBP) examination, to helping establish the Institute for the Certification of Computer Professionals (ICCP), to the creation of the Distinguished Information Sciences Award.
Today, we have 7,000 members in 140 professional and 250 student chapters. Our commitment to education is supported through our educational foundation, special interest groups, and certification programs.
We understand the evolution and direction of the industry and the needs of its professionals. AITP is committed to ensuring that our members remain the global experts of IT innovation.
